Charlotte, NC- April 19, 2007 - During the week of April 23rd -April 29th, the Charlotte Volunteers in Medicine Clinic will observe "Cover the Uninsured Week", A project of the Robert Wood Foundation, a nationally recognized week that help build support and bring awarness to America's uninsured. CVIM will host a series of outreach activities that will bring awareness to one of America's growing crisis, an uninsured population. CVIM invites you to join them at The Greenville Center on April 24th, which serves as the Open House beginning at 6:00pm - 8:30pm where we will host vision screening, diabetes screening and other health education and information that will enlighten the leaders and members of the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Community on how we can bridge the gap and began to serve this population.
In keeping with the theme of this year's focus, which is the importance of children's health coverage and to demonstrate support for the reauthorization of the State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP), we will also have a representative on hand from the MCHD with information for parents on health insurance for children and how to sign children up for coverage.
